OUR PROGRAM

Time To Rise operates summer camps for at-risk students in grades 4 – 6. The camps are hosted by local school partners and typically run four weeks during the month of June. Each Time to Rise participant—roughly 175 students spread across four campuses—typically experiences three consecutive summers in the program. The program offers a spectrum of academic and enrichment programs that strive to

  • strengthen students’ basic academic skills,

  • foster a love of learning,

  • expose youth to positive mentors and role models,

  • encourage cooperation and character development,

  • and give students the tools for a successful future.

Students spend mornings taking classes in four main academic disciplines—math, science, reading and writing—and afternoons engaging in enrichment activities such as sports and field trips. A graduation ceremony and banquet celebrate the close of camp.

REMOTE LEARNING 2020

Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 during the summer of 2020, Time to Rise was able to continue our lasting tradition of offering academic support during the critical summer break from school. Participants received learning kits complete with: reading, writing, math, and geography materials along with a Kroger gift card to support our healthy food initiative.
