Our Mission

OUR MISSION

Time to Rise is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the life chances of at-risk youth. Based in Nashville, the organization operates an academic program that serves youth in grades 4th through 6th. The program stresses the importance of educational excellence and character development as a means to help underprivileged youth avoid the risk factors that limit growth and opportunity.

Since its founding in 1992, Time to Rise has helped thousands of underprivileged children. The success of the program is due to the dedication of the many different constituents involved: the participants from Nashville’s public schools and the faculty and counselors who recommend them, the Time to Rise teachers who hail from both public and private schools, the student

assistants who attend our partner schools, and the site managers who ensure that each camp at each partner school is a safe and positive learning experience for all attendees. The program would not exist without the generous support of our donors, who continue to make it possible for Time to Rise to effect positive change in the lives of so many of our city’s at-risk youth.
